Journey Towards Home| Part-1

Journey Towards Home

19 December 2024, it was a chilly winter morning🌞. While everyone in the Hostel were asleep I was the one waking up early and packing as it was the day I have to catch a train to Delhi. At 8:00 am I was ready with my luggage at the hostel gate waiting for my security clearance.

As soon as I went outside the gate I hoped on the bus to Phagwara, from there I went to Railway station. All through this journey I was watching the passing cars and passing houses reflecting back on the wonderful semester I had. Emerged in my own deep thoughts I reached the gates of Phagwara railway station🚉. I picked my luggage and paid the autorickshaw.

The train was late, therefore I sat on the waiting hall checking the location of my train. I was just scrolling my Instagram when suddenly someone stood in front of me, When I moved my eyes upwards to see who or what It was. I was hit by the realization of a familiar face, It was my friend Uday👦 who I used to occasionally see in my hostel mess. I greeted him and offered a sit next to me. We enquired about our hometown, train and the plan of return. Through which I found out We were in the same train, in the same coach with near seats. I was very delighted as I got company for my 8 hour long train journey.

When the train finally came we boarded the train and put our luggage on our respective seats. The train was filled with students going home for their winter vacations. I went to uday and asked if it was okay to sit beside him and when he agreed I sat beside him. We talked😁 throughout our journey discussing our experience of hostel, college, faculties and of course about our love life. The entire journey we talked with each other and experienced the beautiful plains and field of punjab.

At 6:00 pm we were at our destination, we parted our ways at the new delhi railway station. I had to take a metro to anand vihar railway station and he had to take a cab to greater noida. We hugged each other and gave best wishes to each other on our journey.

While parting I was thinking about the destination we shared together and the remaining journey remained to cover. I smiled and prepared myself for the rest of the journey to my home, with positive hopes and a excitement, I went inside metro to complete my journey💓
